Dear Kat, I miss you very much. Like so many other folks, I So enjoyed our interesting, caring, and full of humor conversations. I loved your wise view of the world and so appreciate all the advice you gave me over the past 11+ years. Thanks for all you gave to this world and all the people at AINC. You remind me to look at the world in a unique way. My condolences go out to Phillip and Kat’s family. Peace and <3, Gretchen

I just found out about Kat’s passing today (Sep 1) from my 9 year partner at AINC. I am very saddened to learn that she will not be with us any longer. I stopped going to the studio when Covid 19 hit almost two years ago, and missed not seeing her every Wednesday during that time. I will now miss her in perpetuity and so will many others that she was so kind to and cared so much about.
My condolences to her husband and family.

I was sad to miss Kat’s memorial in Golden as I often think of her. She shared with everyone, never too busy for a friendly/deep conversation at the studio or over the phone. Her patience, even-temperament, and obvious concern for everyone are what make her a bright and shining star that will never go out. Having started 21 years ago under Kat, I feel a real sense of loss without knowing she’s a phone call away, but a wonderment that I got to get to know her.
May her family be comforted by her generosity and care for all no matter where she was or is today~

Our precious Kat was like the AINC “House Mother”! She not only managed the volunteers…and events, but took the time to chat with us and hear about our daily lives. Such a caring and vibrant woman.
Meeting Phillip had to have been the highlight of her time at AINC.
My best to her family and loved ones~

My name is Danny and for close to two years I have read(remotely) for the Children’s Story Hour. When I applied to volunteer, I was 16 years old and Ms. Bradbury really impressed upon me that as a teen I could help!!! She always treated me with respect and appreciation for my time. She kept in touch with my Mother too. I had to take this past summer off from the readings, and I really wish I had just one last email from her. To Kat’s Family and the AINCC Family we are very sorry for your loss. She was a very nice person.

My first few months volunteering back in 2010 are unforgettable. Kat, Curtis, and I met regularly to standardize the builds on our menagerie of donated studio computers. The studios were Kat’s responsibility and had a solid sense of our priorities. With such spirited people and lively discussions, I knew I’d found the right retirement gig in Boulder. AINC just isn’t the same without her.

Just loved her patience for a tech non starter like me…Much more than any grandkid or my expert daughter…Never had a bad thought or experience with her…I do miss knowing she isn’t still around…actually, she will always be around…wont she??

I too loved recording in studio, I would ride my bike and used the combination of exercise, volunteering, seeing Kat’s smile and the studio staff, and the hum of the AINC studios in action, to spur a great memory!

I met Kat for the first time on January 16, 2013 when I auditioned to be an AINC reader. I remember being so nervous, and I remember that Kat’s friendly encouragement immediately put me at ease. I loved chatting with her each week through many years of in-studio reading, and when I converted to remote recording she was so helpful, encouraging, and tech-savvy. I can still hear her contagious laugh when I would phone her with a question yet again and she would assure me that my misunderstanding of the technology was really no big deal 😉 I missed visiting with her in person when I switched to remote, and always looked forward to catching up at the pre-COVID volunteer receptions. It’s still difficult to believe you’re gone, Kat. May your family be comforted by their memories of you and by the knowledge that you touched the lives of so many others.

I am so grateful that I had some years recording in the studio before I began remote recording. Otherwise I would have missed the wonder that was Kat. She was always ready to help (immediately!) with any studio problems I encountered. Also, there were the always interesting sometimes long conversations we had whenever I had time to poke my head into her office. Lots of laughs, political commentary and very sound advice. Kat was immensely generous with her impulse to help if she could. One of her best nuggets lingers with me and even last week sort of “saved me from myself”. Many thanks for you, KAT!

    Dear Kat,
For 22 years I’ve enjoyed our conversations, laughs, and your totally unique outlook on life. It just won’t be the same without you, your sparkle and nuttiness, and warmth and compassion. It never occurred to me that you would not be around, and I miss you already. I’m sure you’ve livened things up wherever you are. Love, Beth Tavino

I started with AIN in 2019 after many years of referring my clients for services. As a contract outreach coordinator, I wasn’t in the office often and that was before the pandemic changed everything that we did. I’m sad that I didn’t get to know Kat better. I liked her from our first meeting and liked her more at every subsequent time that we had together. She was incredibly dedicated to AIN and she was one of the most generous people I have had ever had the pleasure of knowing. She is be greatly missed.

This week on our Aftersight podcast, we remember our colleague and friend Kat Bradbury. Kat was a strong, gracious, wonderful and funny woman. Penn sits down with the staff of AINC to talk about Kat and remember the good time we shared Kat. Get your tissues ready. Kat, you will be deeply missed.

I always had a connection with Kat as when we met some 20 odd years ago, we figured out we were born just hours apart on the same day. She was my AINC birthday buddy. I was so looking forward to seeing her at the ice cream social. It was such a shock. I will miss her.

Oh Kat…how can it be that I will never get to talk with you in person again!? Another small joy in life that COVID robbed us of…sharing a chuckle ( and maybe a piece of candy!) with you when I came into the studio to record every Wednesday. Thank you so much for always being so approachable, for being there to help solve any problem and for always making us all feel welcome. You made a difference and will be greatly missed.

I started reading for AINC in June 2011, and Kat and I became casual friends over the years. She was one of my go-to confidants who consoled me through my unexpected widowhood in 2015. I last saw Kat a year and a day before she passed, when I sought out her metaphysical insights, which were always spot-on. I can’t believe that was final time I’d see Kat on this side of the veil. It is challenging for me to process her passing, as I know it is for her other friends, family and fellow AINC connections.
Clever, kind, intriguing and always delightful Kat, this world is much less interesting without you in it. I will always treasure your friendship.

What with COVID and recording from home even before that, it’s been a while since I last saw Kat, and it makes me sad that I won’t see her again. Back when I still came into the studio we would chat from time to time, and if my dog was with me Kat would make sure to give her lots of love and attention (my dog thought Kat was the best!) She always had time for volunteers. I’m going to miss her smile and especially her chuckle!

Kat was one of the first Coloradans I met after moving to the Front Range seven years ago, when I started volunteering at AINC. During those on-premise times we shared a connection via our past experiences as nurses, both of us having cared for patients with extremely complex needs in the settings we chose for our careers, and in volunteer coordination.
I will always appreciate the opportunities Kat/ AINC have provided me to continue serving people during my retirement.
It’s hard to comprehend Kat’s sudden passing and the loss to her family and the AINC family.

This is my favorite photo of Kat and I – a good memory with Kat at the Volunteer Appreciation Event 2019. I am severely going to miss calling you the “AINC mom”, and our long conversations in your office about witchcraft, life, the phase of the planets, big things and silly things. Thank you for being a mentor and friend. Your strong, intense and magical essence will be forever in my heart.
