Minoru Yasui Award
Dr. Michelle Wecksler
On August 17, we celebrated Michelle Wecksler at Aftersight Studios as she received the prestigious Minoru Yasui Community Volunteer Award. Named after a civil rights leader who fought for equality, the award honors those who work to empower their communities.
Since 2007, Michelle has been doing just that. She records Audio Editions of the New York Times Travel section and of Ark Valley Voice which make vital information accessible. Denver Mayor Mike Johnston proclaimed August 17 “Michelle Wecksler Day” in recognition of her dedication. Thank you to the MYCVA for their generous $2,000 donation to Aftersight in Michelle’s honor.
