You may know that AINC is the only reading service for youth, adults and seniors who are blind, losing vision, or who can’t read due to some other learning, physical or neurological disability (“print-disabled”). But did you know what’s new in 2020?
1. New website
Check out our new online services at www.aincolorado.org
2. Free smart speakers
Voice-activated smart speakers open up the world-wide-web to those who don’t use computers – or those who prefer to search the internet with simple voice commands. Ask Alexa to tell you a joke or story, play a game online with a far-away grandchild, or learn about the Pillars of Creation in the Eagle Nebula. Or listen to an AINC podcast just by saying, “Alexa, ask Audio Information Network to play Colorado Gardener.”
3. Discount Internet to access AINC programming
Many listeners do not have internet where they live, cannot afford it, or cannot navigate the complex sign-up process. This year, AINC is establishing partnerships with a variety of discount internet providers to help qualified listeners locate the best service and navigate the sign-up. AINC has also begun to pay for the initial internet set-up fee, which can be unaffordable for some.
Meanwhile…
AINC’s 3 regional programs on Rocky Mountain Public Broadcasting Service highlight local newspapers, community resources, the latest information on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid – Everything you need to stay informed, know about resources and services in your area, and be entertained.
Win $100!
The AINC 2020 Listener Survey gives registered listeners three chances to win gift cards of $25, $50, or $100. Program Schedules for 2020 will also be mailed soon.
