AINC’S NEW BOARD PRESIDENT
Scott Chaplick recently took over as AINC’s acting board president. Scott, the owner of Beyond Sight, Inc., is full of ideas and energy for the future of AINC – we welcome him and look forward to the future.
We thank Mr. Mark Mais, who recently finished his tenure as our board president. Mark will continue to be involved on the board. Thank you, Mark!
AINC STAFF AND BOARD GATHERING

At this year’s holiday meetup in December, a lot of excited chatter was exchanged between AINC staff and our board of directors. We talked about the plans, hopes, and dreams for AINC in the next year… and we thank YOU for being here with us! YOU are the reason we are here, and we appreciate your listenership, your input, and your ideas.
So, thank you, and please reach out! We’re dreaming big – trying to think of ways that we can best serve people with print disabilities in Colorado. We’ve already added a new AINC original podcast to the mix, and we have made our content easier to find on streaming platforms. We’ve got a lot more ideas for 2022, but it’s YOUR ideas that matter. If you have ideas to share, find us at:

30TH ANNIVERSARY
In 2021, AINC celebrated 30 years of broadcasts in conjunction with Colorado Gives Day! Through generous donors, we raised over $8,000 in a single day!
Join these donors and partner with AINC to offer services to anyone with a print disability in Colorado.
VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHTS
At AINC, we can’t do what we do without the time and talent of our generous volunteers.
Volunteers are the absolute crux of our service – without them, there is absolutely no way that we could provide service across the entire state of Colorado!
We want to appreciate Tammy as our January Volunteer of the Month for her exceptional reading of the Denver Post, and we also want to appreciate Michelle for her readings of the Ark Valley Voice and New York Times Travel. She is our February Volunteer of the Month. Thank you to both of these exceptional readers – and to everyone who chips in to make sure that news, information, and entertainment is available and accessible to everyone across the state!
MARSHALL FIRE
On December 30, 2021, a devastating fire ravaged Boulder county. Known as the Marshall Fire, it was propelled across Boulder County by hurricane-force winds destroying over 1,000 homes and burning over 6,000 acres in the county. Over 10,000 people were forced to evacuate the area. If you need help after this event, Boulder County has compiled a list of resources at https://www.bouldercounty.org/disasters/wildfires/marshall/
Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this tragedy. We wish everyone a safe and healthy 2022!
AFTERSIGHT

Aftersight is a podcast about print disability – and the life of possibilities that follows. The host, Penn Street, has lived with a visual impairment since the age of nine, and every week she chats with some else from the community about their life and experiences, or about their transition to vision loss.
