At the Aftersight Audio Trekkers Fundraising Hike, volunteers play a crucial role in creating an inclusive and empowering experience for all participants. If you have a passion for outdoor adventures and a desire to make a difference, we invite you to join our dedicated team of volunteers. Whether you are a sighted guide, a certified EMT, or have other valuable skills, your contribution will help bring print to life for individuals who are blind or have low vision.
Empower Others
You’ll have the privilege of assisting blind hikers. Your support and guidance can empower them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Create Lasting Connections
Connect with like-minded individuals who share your passions. The bonds formed on the hike often extend beyond the event itself, fostering lifelong friendships.
Personal Growth
By embracing new challenges, you’ll gain valuable skills, enhance your empathy and understanding, and develop a deeper appreciation for the abilities and resilience of others.
Inspire and Be Inspired
Your commitment to making a difference and your dedication to the cause can motivate and encourage fellow hikers, sponsors, and the wider community.
Sighted Guide
As a sighted guide, you’ll provide assistance and support to blind hikers throughout the journey. Your role is crucial in ensuring a safe and enjoyable hiking experience. Training and guidance will be provided to help you fulfill this role effectively.
Certified EMTs and Medical Professionals
If you are a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or have a medical background, your expertise can contribute to the safety and well-being of all participants. Your presence and medical knowledge will provide peace of mind to the entire hiking community.
General Volunteers:
We also welcome volunteers who can assist with various tasks such as event registration, logistics, refreshments, and event setup and cleanup. Your support in these areas ensures a smooth and organized event for all participants.
